Jones is a 1987 graduate of Patterson High School and he holds an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from Victor Valley College (1988) in Victorville, California, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from California State University, San Bernardino (1991) in San Bernardino, California, and a Juris Doctor Degree from Southern University Law Center (1996) in Baton Rouge.
He has been the sole principal of the law firm Edward B Jones & Associates for 24 years, and the owner of Champions Health Club LLC for 15 years.
He currently serves as the magistrate of Patterson Mayor’s Court by appointment of Mayor Rodney Grogan and the Patterson City Council.
Jones also serves on the Board of Directors of Patterson State Bank. His civic involvement in the community has been present throughout his adult life starting with being a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., the founding president of the 100 Black Men of St. Mary Inc., Prince Hall Lodge No. 16, and the Louisiana Voter Empowerment coordinator of the NAACP.
Jones dedicated 10 years of service to coaching youth sports of basketball and football in the Patterson area and helped establish a foundation for many youths to excel in sports and gain athletic scholarships to further their educational and athletic dreams.
He is married to Raynea Hartman Jones, and they have three children, Pa’Ris Jones (Malveaux), Justice Jones, Mykel Jones, and two grandchildren, Deuce and Max.
“Ed has already proven to be an excellent addition to our boards,” Marin said. “He is involved in our local community and his network of contacts is very broad.
“Our boards look forward to working with Ed to continue to provide direction, excellent service, and products that have made it possible for our bank to be here since 1925.”
